SAR يعني التوقف والعودة وهو مؤشر يتبع الاتجاه، مصمم لتحديد نقاط التحول في حركة السعر.

يظهر بارابوليك SAR على الرسم البياني على شكل سلسلة من "النقاط" الصغيرة الموضوعة إما فوق أو تحت السعر. عندما تكون الأسعار تتحرك في اتجاه محدد إلى الأعلى، تكون النقاط تحت حركة السعر، وعندما يتجه السعر إلى أسفل، تكون النقاط فوق حركة السعر.
