مؤشر القوة النسبية RSI هو مؤشر تذبذب يوضح أن أصل قد يكون في ذروة شراء أو ذروة بيع.

يفعل المؤشر ذلك بمقارنة حركة السعر طوال فترة زمنية – عادة 14 فترة – تتيح للمؤشر إظهار ما إذا كان السعر قد أصبح  أعلى أو أقل.

على هذا النحو، يمكن استخدامه لتحديد متى قد يقترب الاتجاه  من نهايته أو متى يبدأ اتجاه جديد في التشكيل.
